If you ever get the opportunity visit India. There are so many amazing things to see and do. I had the privledge to be there for 8 weeks. I met the most amazing and Intelligent people. Many had family in the US and everyone spoke English.
Being the avid traveler that I am, I always want to see things from behind the scenes. I want to really experience what it is like to live in India. My journey started in Hyderabad India, and Moved on to Mumbai, Kashmir, New Dehli, Kolkatta, Sri Lanka and Chennai. Being among friends I was given the opportunity to see from a different perspective how life really is in India.
I came away with a since of calm and reverence for a place that is faster paced than New York and Where the people never seem to sleep. Many work for American Firms that have transported their call centers to India so they work around the clock and everyone, loves and lives for the midnight feast.
The Midnight feast became my favorite event. Everynight at Midnight when people have finally left work for the day, they gather at homes and restaurants for music, dancing and the midnight feast of the most amazing food you have ever tasted. There is laughter and joy all around. Celebration of another day that we were blessed to be on this planet. Another day we were allowed to play and work and breathe.
While in India, I learned to wear a sari like a Goddess, to use a tandoor and prepare authentic Indian dishes, to play a Sitar and how to keep the bindi in place during the sweltering heat.
It was indeed a good time.
Much love to you all!
